Asymmetric freestanding bathtubs

The asymmetric shape of this freestanding bath serves a practical purpose: a silhouette that stands apart from classic models while keeping a good bathing volume. Placed freely in the room, it suits both a modern bathroom and a more traditional atmosphere.

Every tub is made from acrylic, a material that feels pleasant and retains the water's heat well. Depending on the model chosen — Kelly, Magic or Kalee — dimensions vary to suit your project.

Free delivery in 6 working days, 2-year manufacturer's guarantee.

A unique, original shape

An asymmetric freestanding bath stands apart from the ordinary: the asymmetric shape brings a genuine artistic touch to the bathroom. Placed in the centre of the room, it naturally draws the eye and becomes a centrepiece to build your decor around, whether modern and minimalist or more traditional.

Available dimensions

This range offers several sizes depending on the model: Kelly in 150, 160 or 170 cm, Magic in 170 or 180 cm, or Kalee in 170 cm. This means the bath can suit different bathroom layouts.

A material built to last

All our asymmetric freestanding baths are made from acrylic, a material that feels pleasant, retains the water's heat well, and resists wear, scratches and limescale well over time.

Installation, step by step

Before installing, clear the installation area and make sure the floor is level. Then position the bath in the intended spot, adjust the feet height while leaving a slight gap between the floor and the bath panel, and proceed with the plumbing (strainer, drainage, taps). Finish with a silicone seal at the joint between the floor and panel, and wait 24 hours before first use.

Maintenance tips

Avoid hard sponges and abrasive products; favour soft cloths and solutions suited to acrylic. A mix based on lemon juice can be effective against limescale. To limit its build-up, dry your bath after each use.

Any questions?

What is a freestanding bath ?

A freestanding bath — also known as a standalone or freestanding bathtub — is a model that sits freely in the bathroom, without being fixed to a wall. Finished on all sides, it becomes the centrepiece of the room.

Unlike a built-in bath, installation is straightforward : no tiling around it, no panel to fix. It rests on its own feet or an integrated base. At Spalina, all our freestanding baths are made from premium acrylic, available in several shapes — oval, rectangular, round or asymmetric — and in several finishes : gloss white, matte black, matte grey.

Not to be confused with the semi-freestanding bath, which keeps the look of a freestanding model while leaning against a wall — the ideal solution for more compact bathrooms.

How much space do you need for a freestanding bath ?

A freestanding bath requires at least 60 cm of clearance on each side to allow comfortable movement and access to the taps. You will therefore need a bathroom of at least 7 to 8 m², depending on the model chosen.

For tighter spaces, compact models are the way to go : the Loom 2.0 (130x130 cm, round) or the Stellar (170x75 cm, rectangular) offer a smaller footprint without compromising on comfort. If you have less than 60 cm of clearance on one side, a semi-freestanding bath will be more suitable — it keeps the look of a freestanding model while leaning against a wall, and is available in 160 cm, 170 cm and 180 cm.

Which bath is the most comfortable ?

There is no universal answer — comfort depends on your height, how you use the bath, and the space available. That said, several criteria make a real difference : interior length, basin depth, backrest shape and material.

For length, allow at least 170 cm if you are 5'9" or taller — our 170 cm baths and 180 cm baths allow full immersion. For depth, freestanding oval baths are generally deeper than standard built-in models. For massage, a whirlpool bath adds an incomparable relaxation dimension — toning water jets or enveloping air bubbles depending on the system chosen. For two people, our 2-person baths offer generous space with moulded ergonomic seating.

In all cases, the acrylic used in all Spalina baths guarantees a soft touch and excellent heat retention — two factors that extend the pleasure of your bath.

What are the benefits of a bath ?

A bath offers what a shower cannot replace : a moment of complete relaxation, with the body immersed in warm water at 36-38°C. Regular bathing helps release muscle tension, reduce stress and promote better sleep. It is also the most practical option for families with young children.

With a whirlpool bath, the benefits are amplified : water jets or air bubbles massage the body deeply, for a spa-like experience at home. With a freestanding bath, it is also a strong decorative asset that adds value to the bathroom. For tighter spaces, a corner bath or a semi-freestanding bath allow you to enjoy these benefits without sacrificing space.

All Spalina baths are made from premium acrylic — a soft, lightweight material that retains the heat of the water well.

What guarantees does Spalina offer ?

All Spalina baths come with a 2-year warranty against manufacturing and conformity defects. This warranty covers parts and labour in the event of a proven defect. Our after-sales service is available 5d/7 to answer any technical or commercial questions after receipt.

For whirlpool baths, every model is tested for 4 hours in water before dispatch — a systematic step in our specifications that guarantees the correct operation of the entire hydraulic and electrical system before the bath leaves our warehouse.

Spalina is a French brand founded in 2003, specialising in acrylic baths, with over 60,000 baths delivered. For any after-sales enquiry, contact us at hello@spalina.fr or via our contact form.

What tap for a freestanding bath ?

Choosing the right tap for a freestanding bath depends mainly on the shape of the bath and the location of your water supply. Two main families exist : floor-mounted bath taps and deck-mounted taps fitted on the bath rim.

For a freestanding bath with no pre-drilled holes on the rim, a floor-mounted tap is the most suitable solution. At Spalina, we offer four models : Dedge, Vogue, Ondaz and Scarlett — all chrome finish, from 265€. For a bath with pre-drilled holes on the rim, our Infinite chrome and Infinite noire mate sets offer direct installation from 198€.

In all cases, check the number and spacing of the holes on your bath before choosing your tap. If in doubt, our team is available 5d/7 to advise you.

What is the difference between a freestanding bath and a semi-freestanding bath ?

A freestanding bath sits freely in the bathroom, away from all walls. It is finished on all sides and becomes the centrepiece of the room. It requires generous space — allow at least 60 cm of clearance on each side — and a floor water supply.

A semi-freestanding bath leans against a wall. It retains the look of a freestanding model on its three visible sides, while simplifying installation : the water supply can come through the wall, and it takes up less space. It is the ideal solution for bathrooms of 5 to 7 m² that want a beautiful design without space constraints.

In short : if you have the space and a floor water supply, go for a freestanding bath. If your bathroom is more compact or your plumbing runs through the wall, a semi-freestanding bath is more suitable. In both cases, Spalina offers models in 160, 170 and 180 cm, in acrylic, delivered free of charge within 6 working days.

How much does an asymmetric bath cost ?

Spalina's asymmetric baths start at €749 with the Kalee 170 — our most accessible model in this original shape.

For the Kelly range, expect to pay €879 regardless of the format chosen : the Kelly 150, Kelly 160 and Kelly 170 are all the same price, letting you choose the length without budget constraints.

For a more generous format, the Magic range offers the Magic 170 at €969 and the Magic 180 at €979 — a difference of just €10 for 10 cm more.

All prices include free delivery within 6 working days and a 2-year warranty. No hidden fees.

What dimensions should you choose for an asymmetric bath ?

Spalina's asymmetric baths come in four lengths : 150, 160, 170 and 180 cm. The choice depends on your height and the available space.

For someone up to 165 cm, the Kelly 150 (150 cm) is more than enough. Between 165 cm and 175 cm, the Kelly 160 or Kelly 170 offer more legroom. For someone 175 cm or taller, go for the Magic 170 or Magic 180 — the latter remains our most generous format.

In terms of width, these models generally measure between 70 and 80 cm — check the product page for the exact dimensions of your chosen model. The asymmetric shape also optimises footroom space, ideal for baths installed against a wall or in a recess.
