Freestanding whirlpool bathtub

With its elegant, clean lines, the Spalina freestanding whirlpool bath replaces traditional air jets with very fine, almost invisible holes, for a more zen design. The Bulle system releases thousands of tiny bubbles, powered by a quiet 300W air pump, for a gentle, relaxing massage.

Available in several finishes, including Tao, Ukio and Tao black, every model also features a chromotherapy function.

The Bulle system, for quiet relaxation

Our freestanding whirlpool range relies on Bulle technology: very fine holes release thousands of tiny bubbles, powered by a 300W air pump, for a gentle massage rather than a powerful hydromassage. The quiet pump system limits noise during relaxation, and the chromotherapy function adds an extra sensory dimension.

Installation, what to plan for

Before installing, check that the floor is dry, clean, level and able to bear the load. Keep at least 1 cm of clearance between the adjustable feet and the floor for good motor ventilation, and allow a 500 mm maintenance zone around the bath. The electrical connection requires a qualified electrician, who will connect the three conductors to an IPX5 box; the plumbing (taps, drainage) generally also requires a professional. Once installation is complete, a function test confirms everything is working correctly.

Any questions?

What is a whirlpool bath ?

A whirlpool bath is a bath fitted with a water or air massage system that turns every soak into a relaxation session at home. Unlike a standard bath, it features jets or diffusers that propel water or air to massage the body.

At Spalina, three technologies are available. The Jets system delivers powerful, adjustable hydrojets for a toning and draining massage. The Wave system combines water jets and air diffusion for a relaxation that is both toning and enveloping. The Bulle system diffuses air only through thousands of silent microbubbles — for gentle, deep relaxation. All our whirlpool baths are tested for 4 hours in water before dispatch and come with a 2-year warranty.

Our range covers several configurations : 1-person whirlpool for solo use, 2-person whirlpool, freestanding whirlpool placed freely in the room, and corner whirlpool to make the most of your space.

How do I clean my freestanding whirlpool bathtub?

When it comes to cleaning your freestanding whirlpool bathtub, always start by unplugging the appliance from the power supply. A damp cloth will suffice for day-to-day cleaning. Avoid using hard bristled brushes and abrasive chemicals as they may damage the tub surface.

The nozzles require a special cleaning regimen. First, fill the tub with hot water (40°C), adding 2 grams of detergent per litre. Next, let the pump run for 4 minutes, then drain. Now repeat this step with cold water for 3 minutes.

Use sandpaper to buff out any scuffs; follow up with toothpaste or white clay stone, then polish with a silken cloth. To remove limescale, we recommend using lemon juice, though any light acidic detergent will do.

Which bath is the most comfortable ?

There is no universal answer — comfort depends on your height, how you use the bath, and the space available. That said, several criteria make a real difference : interior length, basin depth, backrest shape and material.

For length, allow at least 170 cm if you are 5'9" or taller — our 170 cm baths and 180 cm baths allow full immersion. For depth, freestanding oval baths are generally deeper than standard built-in models. For massage, a whirlpool bath adds an incomparable relaxation dimension — toning water jets or enveloping air bubbles depending on the system chosen. For two people, our 2-person baths offer generous space with moulded ergonomic seating.

In all cases, the acrylic used in all Spalina baths guarantees a soft touch and excellent heat retention — two factors that extend the pleasure of your bath.

How to choose the right whirlpool bath ?

Choosing a whirlpool bath comes down to four main criteria : available space, type of massage, configuration (1 or 2 people) and shape.

Space : our models start at 135x135 cm for corner whirlpools such as the Maldives Jets or Tasmanie Jets, and at 170x70 cm for rectangular models like the Tenzo Wave. Measure your bathroom first.

Type of massage : at Spalina, three systems are available. The Jets system delivers powerful, adjustable hydrojets — ideal for a toning and draining massage. The Wave system combines water jets and air diffusion for a massage that is both toning and enveloping. The Bulle system diffuses air only, releasing thousands of silent microbubbles — perfect for gentle, deep relaxation.

1 or 2 people : for solo use, our 1-person whirlpools offer an excellent comfort-to-footprint ratio. For two people, our 2-person whirlpools measure 170x120 cm or 180x120 cm.

Shape : rectangular for a clean design, corner to optimise space, freestanding for a strong decorative impact. All our whirlpool baths are tested for 4 hours in water before dispatch and come with a 2-year warranty.

What are the benefits of balneotherapy ?

Balneotherapy refers to the use of warm water combined with jets or air bubbles to relieve the body and promote relaxation. A bath at 37°C with an active massage system helps release muscle tension, stimulate blood circulation and reduce stress. Many users also report improved sleep quality after regular sessions.

At Spalina, three systems allow you to tailor the experience to your needs. The Jets system acts through powerful hydrojets for a draining and toning effect on the muscles. The Wave system combines water and air for a relaxation that is both stimulating and enveloping. The Bulle system diffuses air only through silent microbubbles — the gentlest option, ideal for deep relaxation without intensity.

These benefits are available at home with a Spalina whirlpool bath, tested for 4 hours in water before dispatch and guaranteed for 2 years. Discover our 1-person and 2-person ranges.

What guarantees does Spalina offer ?

All Spalina baths come with a 2-year warranty against manufacturing and conformity defects. This warranty covers parts and labour in the event of a proven defect. Our after-sales service is available 5d/7 to answer any technical or commercial questions after receipt.

For whirlpool baths, every model is tested for 4 hours in water before dispatch — a systematic step in our specifications that guarantees the correct operation of the entire hydraulic and electrical system before the bath leaves our warehouse.

Spalina is a French brand founded in 2003, specialising in acrylic baths, with over 60,000 baths delivered. For any after-sales enquiry, contact us at hello@spalina.fr or via our contact form.

What is the difference between a whirlpool bath and a jacuzzi ?

The word "jacuzzi" is often used as a generic term for a whirlpool bath. In reality, Jacuzzi is a registered trademark — much like "hoover" for vacuum cleaner. At Spalina, we sell whirlpool baths, not jacuzzis.

The difference lies mainly in use and dimensions. A whirlpool bath is installed in the bathroom like a standard bath — it is designed for 1 to 2 people and comes in rectangular, corner or freestanding formats. A jacuzzi, on the other hand, is a much larger piece of equipment, designed to accommodate several people at once, often installed outdoors and requiring a reinforced floor.

At Spalina, our whirlpool baths incorporate three massage systems : the Jets system (powerful hydrojets), the Wave system (water and air combined) and the Bulle system (silent air microbubbles). Every model is tested for 4 hours in water before dispatch and comes with a 2-year warranty. Free delivery within 6 working days.

How to maintain your bath ?

Maintaining an acrylic bath is straightforward as long as you use the right products. The golden rule : never use abrasive products, scouring pads or acetone-based cleaners — they will permanently scratch the surface.

For white and gloss finishes : a mild, non-abrasive cleaner diluted in lukewarm water is all you need. Rinse with clean water and dry with a soft cloth to avoid limescale marks. A weekly clean is enough to keep the finish looking its best.

For matte finishes (black, grey, blue Tiff, orange H) : matte finishes are more sensitive to limescale marks and fingerprints. Use a cleaner specifically designed for matte surfaces, without wax or polish. Always dry with a microfibre cloth after each use.

For whirlpool baths : after each use, run the system empty for 2 to 3 minutes with clean water to rinse the jets and the hydraulic circuit. Once a month, run a cleaning cycle with a specialist whirlpool cleaner to remove limescale deposits from the pipes. Never use foaming products in a whirlpool while it is running.

How do I hook up my whirlpool bathtub?

When it comes to connecting your whirlpool bathtub to a power supply, we strongly recommend hiring an experienced electrician. If, however, you feel comfortable handling installation on your own, you’ll need to connect the three conductors of the power cable to an IPX5 junction box. Each conductor should be connected to its corresponding terminal. Brown is phase, blue is neutral and yellow/green is earth.

How to install your bath ?

Before installing a freestanding or corner bath, make sure the floor can support the load — it must also be perfectly dry, clean and level. For models with adjustable feet, keep a minimum gap of 1 cm between the feet and the floor to ensure proper air circulation.

For plumbing, plan for fitting the tap and setting up the drainage system — a plumber will be useful if you are not comfortable doing it yourself. For a whirlpool bath, an additional electrical connection is required : unless you are a qualified electrician, we strongly recommend hiring a professional to connect the three wires (live, neutral, earth) to a bathroom-compliant IPX5 junction box. Also leave a 500 mm maintenance zone around the bath for future servicing.

Generally expect between €300 and €800 for a full professional installation, depending on the complexity of the work and the model chosen. Once installation is complete, systematically test that everything works before first use. Our team is available 5d/7 to answer your technical questions.
