How do I install my freestanding whirlpool bathtub?

Before installing your freestanding whirlpool bathtub, first check to make sure your floor can support its weight. Also make sure the installation site is totally dry, clean and level.

Next, leave at least 1 cm of space between the adjustable feet and the floor to allow for proper ventilation of the motor. You’ll also want to leave 500 mm of clearance around your bathtub.

Your bathtub will need to be connected to a power supply. Unless you have electrical training, we urge you to hire a qualified electrician. They should connect the three conductors (phase, neutral and earth) to an IPX5 junction box.

Installation will also require some plumbing work as the faucet, pipework and drain will have to be installed. Unless you feel comfortable doing this yourself, a plumber will probably be helpful.

When you’ve finished installing your tub, test it to make sure everything is working properly.

How do I clean my freestanding whirlpool bathtub?

When it comes to cleaning your freestanding whirlpool bathtub, always start by unplugging the appliance from the power supply. A damp cloth will suffice for day-to-day cleaning. Avoid using hard bristled brushes and abrasive chemicals as they may damage the tub surface.

The nozzles require a special cleaning regimen. First, fill the tub with hot water (40°C), adding 2 grams of detergent per litre. Next, let the pump run for 4 minutes, then drain. Now repeat this step with cold water for 3 minutes.

Use sandpaper to buff out any scuffs; follow up with toothpaste or white clay stone, then polish with a silken cloth. To remove limescale, we recommend using lemon juice, though any light acidic detergent will do.
